Welcome to Red Mage!

Hi, welcome in! I'm Andres, a Puerto Rican software engineer, current grad student at the Universitat of Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona, Catalonia, and AI ethics professional. I live in the beautiful town of Fort Collins, CO by Colorado State University. Due to my upbringing, I've lived in places like Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and South Korea before college, and graduated from Northern Arizona University. When I'm not working or writing, I'm usually cross-stitching.

I decided to create Red Mage as a creative outlet to talk about the ideas I'm passionate about. As the AI arms race continues to rage forward, there's a worry I have in underrepresented and marginalized groups to be caught in the cross-fire and left worse off than before this technology was introduced. I'm also generally interested in a lot of topics surrounding the LGBTQIA, BIPOC, and other socioeconomically disadvantaged groups, so you'll likely see a blend of those ideas in many of my posts. Of course, every post comes with a picture of my dog, Cha Cha. He's an Italian Greyhound who loves cheese and attention, so hopefully he makes you smile as much as he makes us smile. Thanks, and I'm excited to put my ideas to paper!
